What is ENRICH?

Established in 2016, ENRICH advises the Rice Provost on opportunities to develop and expand research collaborations and educational partnerships between Rice University and health-related institutions of the Texas Medical Center (TMC). The office supports faculty and students with targeted resources to advance training opportunities and foster health-related research.

Faculty Support
- How does ENRICH support Rice faculty?

ENRICH promotes faculty engagement and strengthens research collaborations with targeted resources. The office provides exceptional service and support to Rice faculty across all disciplines, guiding them in building formal relationships with specialists at TMC to identify research partners.
ENRICH also works closely with and provides administrative support to Rice institutes, centers, initiatives, and executive leadership to facilitate research. The office has been actively involved in supporting faculty directors in the creation of joint initiatives.

ENRICH promotes interdisciplinary research by serving as a bridge between Rice University and the health-related institutions of TMC. It facilitates collaboration across disciplines by fostering and building partnerships, providing administrative support, offering seed funding and hosting events.
- What fields of research does ENRICH support?

ENRICH supports all health-related research in various fields and has advanced biomedical fields including bioengineering, cancer diagnostics and therapeutics, cardiovascular health, neuroscience, behavioral health, general surgery, robotics, imaging, and nursing.
- How does ENRICH fund research?

ENRICH offers funding opportunities to support health-related research through the implementation and facilitation of seed grant programs within Rice and with partner institutions from TMC. In addition, ENRICH assists with the administrative aspects of the seed grant process, including calls for proposals, the review process, and more. Thanks to interinstitutional agreements between Rice University and the health-related institutions of the Texas Medical Center (TMC), Rice students can enroll in research or internship experiences at the world’s largest medical complex.
